In search of an insurance policy based on the uncertainty of kicker Jeff Wilkins’ future, the Rams signed Justin Medlock late Monday afternoon.
The left footed Medlock comes to St. Louis with some impressive college credentials, but didn’t live up to them after he was drafted in the fifth round by Kansas City.
Medlock was a first team All America at UCLA in 2006 and finished his career as a Bruin second in career points (357) and field goals (70).
Known for his strong leg on kickoffs, Medlock was unable to nail down the Chiefs’ kicking job for the 2007 season. He played in just one game before the team released him. He hit a 27-yard field goal and missed on his only other regular season NFL attempt.
Wilkins intimated late in the season that health issues could make last season, his 14th in the NFL, his final year. Wilkins said he would take some time to consider his options and heal before making a decision on his status.
Nur kann ich das auf denn Erstenblick nicht gleich verstehen... .
