Rams open preseason at New York Jets

The Rams’ 2009 preseason has a new look to it in terms of opponents. The Rams open exhibition play on the road with their first-ever preseason game against the New York Jets. A home game with Atlanta and a road game at Cincinnati follow. The Rams have played the Falcons and Bengals each only once previously in preseason play.
But there’s a familiar foe to close out the preseason: Kansas City comes to town on Thursday, Sept. 3 for the almost-annual Governor’s Cup game. It will mark the 20th time the Rams have played the Chiefs in preseason play, with 12 of thosen meetings coming since the Rams moved to St. Louis in 1995
This preseason marks only the third time in the 15 seasons the Rams have been in St. Louis that the Rams will play neither Oakland or San Diego in exhibition play.
The exact dates of the first three games are to be decided, but they will be played sometime from Thursday through Monday of each preseason week. Here'’s the schedule:

Week 1: at New York Jets (Aug. 13-15)

Week 2: Atlanta (Aug. 20-24)

Week 3: at Cincinnati (Aug. 27-29)

Week 4: Kansas City (Sept. 3)
